“A Tale of Two Cities”: Creating a Sense of Permanency in Both Parental Homes for Kids After Divorce

As you may or may not know, many of my clients are divorcing couples and when I work with them as their mediator or in collaborative divorce, often the discussions regarding the children are the areas of the divorce when the couple is most cooperative and they work together to create parenting and visitation plans that works for them. In litigated divorces, similar plans are created as well, either by agreement between the parents or decided by the Judge overseeing the divorce proceedings.

Either way, parents may find it challenging to help their children adapt to the new schedule and getting comfortable in the new spaces, and the place that they called “home” may be changing.

That is why this conversation is so important.

Our guest provides helpful tips and advice about ways in which it is possible to create a “safe haven” for your children post-divorce or even during your divorce proceedings. Even though your relationship with your kid’s other parent may have fallen apart and things in your life have changed, there are still ways to minimize the impact upon your children and help to maintain their relationships with you and your ex (or soon-to-be-ex).

During this interview you will learn:

• The most unintentionally overlooked issue in divorce
• What can be done about it
• Why Jodi is so passionate about this issue and how that is a benefit to YOU
• Real life examples

Learn how you can create this for your children.
